Machine Operator – Jumbo Slitter (2nd Shift)

About the role

The Machine Operator will run and monitor the Jumbo Slitter (VSL4) on the 2nd shift, ensuring production targets and quality standards are met. This full‑time position requires safe operation of equipment and active participation in continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Operate and monitor jumbo slitting equipment safely and efficiently.
• Perform machine setup, adjustments, troubleshooting, and changeovers.
• Record and report jumbo roll and slit roll consumption accurately.
• Monitor product quality and take corrective action for defects.
• Follow BPS, 5S, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Identify process‑improvement opportunities and support continuous improvement activities.
• Communicate production issues, material shortages, quality concerns, and equipment problems to appropriate personnel.

Required profile

• Possesses basic mechanical skills.
• Basic mathematical skills for measurements (standard and metric).
• Legible handwriting for accurate record‑keeping.

Required skills

• Knowledge of KanBan methodology.
• Adherence to 5S standards and the 14 Quality Basics.
• Understanding of high‑risk item handling and safety procedures.
• Ability to unload and reload pallets and print labels.
