Low Voltage Electrician

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Journey-Level Low Voltage Electrician to support a government contract at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, Georgia. The position suits a well-rounded, highly trained and experienced electrician, typically developed through a formal apprenticeship and on-the-job experience.

Key responsibilities

• Install, service and repair electrical equipment in residential, commercial and industrial settings.
• Replace defective circuit breakers, switches, fuses and other wiring devices.
• Analyze and troubleshoot electrical systems such as generators, transformers, switchboards, motors, motor controllers, circuit breakers and conduit systems.
• Follow blueprints, drawings and engineering specifications, and use hand tools and testing instruments.
• Install conduit using threading, cutting and bending equipment.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required profile

• High school graduate or equivalent, with at least one of: Level 2 Electrical Maintenance certification, an approved apprenticeship, or 2+ years of verifiable commercial and industrial electrical maintenance experience (600 VAC and below).
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring schematics and electrical designs, and to prepare project reports and as-built drawings.
• Proven troubleshooting ability for AC and DC control systems, including motors, switchgear and electrical panels.
• Ability to work at heights with mechanical lifting devices up to 300 feet, and to obtain a license for devices up to 132 feet.
• CPR certified, hard-toed safety shoes, valid state driver's license and standard tools of the trade.
• Subject to a government security investigation and must obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (US citizenship required); AMMO-29 certification strongly preferred.

What we offer

• Pay of $36.45 per hour, with shift differential, hazard pay, lead pay and on-call pay.
