Logistics Specialist TS/SCI

About the role

Amentum is seeking a Logistics Specialist to support its customers' warehouse operations and logistics life cycle in the Winchester, Virginia area. The role covers shipping and receiving, inventory accountability, storage and distribution, and the secure receipt, control, handling, storage and movement of customer equipment and supplies. Work is Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day, in the office.

Key responsibilities

• Execute logistics and warehousing activities: run software for procurement, inventory management and supply chain planning, and load, unload, move and sort items.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness, organization and safety, and comply with physical security guidelines.
• Assist with inventory management and reconcile discrepancies, keeping inventories up to date in the Defense Property Accountability System (DPAS).
• Produce reports with Microsoft Office, receive shipments, verify them against purchase orders and packing lists, and inspect materials for damage.
• Package and label materials correctly, using material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Transportation: receive trip assignments, perform vehicle safety inspections, load and unload trucks according to weight distribution limits, and drive to delivery points (travel 20-30% of the time).

Required profile

• Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance adjudicated within the last 5 years or designated CE, with the ability to obtain and maintain special accesses.
• H.S. diploma or equivalent; 5 years of experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and work in a warehouse with fumes, noise and dust.
• Preferred: Class A or B CDL or military equivalent with 5 years of driving experience, a passing DOT physical, and thorough knowledge of DOT regulations.

Required skills

• Basic computer skills and experience with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to operate box trucks, forklifts and other material handling equipment.
• Dependability, attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to follow procedures and work independently and in a team.
