Logistics Generalist - Full Performance

About the role

The Logistics Generalist supports the Office of Logistics and the Sponsor's supply chain, coordinating the transport of people and goods, materials management and facility services. Duties depend on the office of assignment and follow the priorities of the senior Logistics Staff officer. Travel to CONUS or OCONUS locations may be required for temporary logistics needs.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with purchasing materials and services: ordering from internal and external sources, validating customer requirements against regulations and estimating costs
• Reconcile financial statements and accounts payable, and review bills and invoices for accuracy
• Coordinate transportation of material and people, prepare and package shipments, arrange couriers and drivers, and research the best shipping methods
• Maintain inventories, process inventory requests, track vehicle allowances and maintain a fleet of vehicles
• Handle property accountability and audits, and act as Responsible Officer of record when required
• Work with Facilities Management on office moves, renovations and maintenance, and coordinate computer and phone service moves with IT Support

Required profile

• Five years of relevant logistics experience in the public or private sector
• High school diploma or GED equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred
• Exceptional customer service, flexibility, and strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently, solve complex problems and build professional networks

Required skills

• Knowledge of logistics processes, policies and regulations
• Working knowledge of project management concepts
• Use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook) and Sponsor databases for property, movement and purchasing
• Ability to obtain forklift certification every two years
