Local RN Med‑Surg Contract – $44/hr in Palestine, TX

About the role

The position is a 13‑week local contract for a Registered Nurse specializing in Medical‑Surgical (Med‑Surg) care at a hospital in Palestine, Texas. The RN will work 12‑hour night shifts, totaling 36 hours per week, providing direct patient care and supporting the transition of patients from ICU to the Med‑Surg unit.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to post‑operative and medically stable patients on the Med‑Surg floor.
• Monitor patient vital signs, administer medications, and document care accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and support staff to coordinate patient discharge planning.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans, medications, and post‑hospital care.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment in compliance with hospital policies.

Required profile

• Current, unrestricted RN license in Texas.
• Experience in Medical‑Surgical nursing, preferably with exposure to ICU step‑down patients.
• Ability to work night shifts and adapt to a fast‑paced hospital setting.

Required skills

• Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) documentation.
• Competence in medication administration and IV therapy.
