Loadout Clay Unloader

About the role

BASF's Catalysts division, which develops and produces mobile emissions catalysts and process catalysts, is hiring a Loadout Clay Unloader in Attapulgus, GA. The position is onsite, part of the United Steel Workers Union and covered by its collective bargaining agreement. The pay rate is $28.56 per hour.

Key responsibilities

• Complete safety shift inspection checklists for the inside area and at blenders #1 and #2, working as a team to finish all shift safety inspections.
• Operate load-out systems, blenders, clay unloading systems and other equipment using the Wonderware DCS system, and make minor repairs as needed.
• Direct, assist and perform duties such as connecting railcars, backing trucks into position to unload and load, and spotting trucks according to procedure.
• Schedule and direct truck drivers from staging areas and truck stops using telephones, CB radio and plant radios.
• Troubleshoot blenders and load-out systems and other equipment as needed, and work with the outside operator.
• Follow Blend coordinator notes, take part in area housekeeping audits, and understand, monitor and follow process safety guidelines while reporting incidents and completing required process safety training.
• Perform other tasks assigned by the Team Leader or management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED.
• High level of attention to detail and good communication skills.
• Currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.
