Litigation Legal Assistant (Hybrid) – Portland, OR

About the role

Schwabe, Williamson & Wyatt is seeking a full‑time Litigation Legal Assistant for its Portland office. The role operates on a hybrid schedule, with remote work on Mondays and Fridays and on‑site collaboration Tuesday through Thursday after an initial in‑person onboarding period.

Key responsibilities

• Provide high‑quality legal administrative support to lawyers and paralegals, focusing on document editing, formatting, and proofreading.
• Prepare, revise, and finalize pleadings, briefs, and correspondence while meeting strict deadlines.
• Manage electronic filing in Oregon, Washington, federal, and appellate courts, ensuring compliance with each jurisdiction’s local rules.
• Maintain calendars for client meetings, court appearances, filing dates, and internal milestones.
• Verify legal citations using appropriate citation tools.
• Organize electronic files, assist with matter opening and closing procedures, and uphold firm policies.
• Proof and submit attorney time entries accurately for billing.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards in all communications.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience supporting litigation, including intellectual property matters.
• Associate’s degree preferred.
• Strong knowledge of litigation processes and court rules.
• Exceptional organizational skills with high attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently and meet tight deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
