Litigation Counsel – Corporate Litigation Attorney

About the role

Uber’s Litigation Team seeks a business‑oriented attorney to manage complex U.S. corporate litigation across multiple practice areas. The role supports all delivery lines, including UberEats, and reports to a Legal Director.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and lead strategy for diverse litigation matters from pre‑litigation threats to class certification, trial, arbitration, and appeals.
• Handle fact investigation, draft briefs, respond to discovery, prepare witnesses, and negotiate settlements.
• Supervise outside counsel, including staffing, strategy, budgets, invoices, and compliance with internal guidelines.
• Provide concise legal advice on contracts, advertising, trade‑secret protection, and product development.
• Identify, analyze, and mitigate litigation risks.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of broad litigation experience in a law firm or in‑house legal department.
• J.D. and active license to practice law in at least one U.S. state.
• Strong ethical standards and ability to work with senior business leaders.
• Experience with court hearings, depositions, mediations, or trials is a plus.

Required skills

• Expertise in managing pleadings, motions, complex e‑discovery, and dispute resolution.
• Exceptional legal research, writing, negotiation, and advocacy abilities.
• Familiarity with e‑discovery processes, document retention policies, and production.
