Line Cook

About the role

The Plaza Hotel Pioneer Park, a 130-room boutique hotel in El Paso, TX, is hiring a Line Cook. The cook prepares food according to production requirements and guest service and sustainability standards, with a growth path toward Lead Cook, Sous Chef and Assistant to the Head Chef.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare food of consistent quality following recipe cards and production and portion standards.
• Start items prepared ahead of time without over-preparing estimated needs.
• Date and rotate food containers, keeping perishables at proper temperatures.
• Check pars for the shift, plan preparation and freezer pulls, and note out-of-stock items.
• Return unused items to storage, covered and dated, and help control food cost, waste and loss.
• Clean, maintain and operate kitchen tools and equipment safely, following MSDS and OSHA standards.
• Perform other duties requested by management.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2 years of related experience.
