Line Cook – Food Services Technician I

About the role

The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is seeking a Line Cook to join its Best Café and Special Events culinary team. This part‑time position supports daily café operations and the preparation of food for museum events, providing guests with high‑quality, seasonal fare in a vibrant, museum setting.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes, including sandwiches, soups, salads, pizza, and rotating exhibition‑inspired dishes.
• Maintain clean and organized kitchen stations, ensuring all equipment is functional and safe.
• Follow food safety and sanitation standards, conducting regular checks and proper storage.
• Assist with catering and special events, supporting service for up to 2,500 guests.
• Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure timely service during busy periods.
