Licensed Veterinary Technician

About the role

The Licensed Veterinary Technician supports research operations at Clinvet NY by performing technical procedures, assisting with study activities, and ensuring high standards of animal care in a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with study activities and technical procedures following established protocols.
• Handle, restrain, feed, water, groom, and exercise animals; provide pre‑ and post‑operative care.
• Collect specimens such as blood, parasites, and microbiological swabs for analysis.
• Administer medications, manage specialized diets, and transport or ship animals as needed.
• Maintain accurate study and animal health records and keep animal rooms, cages, and equipment clean and sanitized.

Required profile

• Active New York State Licensed Veterinary Technician (LVT) required.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand for an 8‑hour shift, and work safely in a hands‑on animal environment.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
