Licensed Therapist – Full‑time Clinical Role

About the role

The University of Miami Counseling Center seeks a licensed therapist to manage a full clinical caseload, provide individual and group psychotherapy, and deliver crisis intervention for the student community.

Key responsibilities

• Provide short‑term individual and group psychotherapy to students.
• Respond to crisis and emergency situations, including on‑call rotation and after‑hours triage.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and complete required documentation promptly.
• Participate in weekly case reviews with the Director of Clinical Services.
• Lead at least two outreach or prevention programs each semester, including evening and weekend events.
• Supervise interns and graduate trainees in the APA‑accredited internship program.
• Engage in student affairs social activities and collaborate with university staff on multidisciplinary concerns.

Required profile

• Licensed mental‑health professional in Florida with at least three years of experience.
• Doctoral or master’s degree in counseling, psychology, or social work, with completed internship requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to provide assessment, crisis intervention, and short‑term psychotherapy.
• Experience working with a culturally diverse university population.
• Strong collaborative skills and ability to maintain confidentiality and ethical standards.
• Excellent written, verbal, and computer communication skills.
