Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Scheduler

About the role

Ochsner Health is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to serve as a Scheduler in its Covington Northshore Region facility. The role provides direct patient care, including IV therapy, under the supervision of a registered nurse while coordinating scheduling activities. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure high‑quality, personalized patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Utilize the nursing process to gather data, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Provide comprehensive care addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs of patients.
• Communicate professionally with patients, families, and staff to enhance the patient experience.
• Adapt quickly to changing unit demands and maintain accurate scheduling records.
• Maintain required clinical knowledge, credentials, and participate in ongoing professional development.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in the state of practice.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
• Excellent organizational, time‑management, and judgment skills.
• Strong interpersonal and delegation abilities, with capacity to handle confidential information.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with minimal supervision.
