Licensed Practical Nurse – Emergency Department

About the role

The Cleveland Clinic Health System is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Emergency Department at Indian River Hospital in Vero Beach. This full‑day shift (10:00 AM – 10:00 PM) provides direct patient care in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care, prioritize tasks, and document procedures and interventions.
• Perform IV therapy, medication administration, and monitor patient responses.
• Assist the multidisciplinary team with patient assessments, discharge planning, and emergency interventions.
• Utilize patient safety restraints and follow infection‑control and quality‑improvement protocols.

Required profile

• Graduate of an accredited Practical or Vocational Nursing program.
• Current Florida LPN license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Within one year of hire: ACLS and PALS certifications; within three months: IV Therapy certificate.
• One year acute‑care experience or three years long‑term care experience; emergency department experience preferred.

Required skills

• Medication administration and MAR documentation.
• Knowledge of infection‑control practices.
• Understanding of quality‑improvement processes.
