Licensed Practical Nurse 3 – Admissions (Decatur, GA)

About the role

The State of Georgia's Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Admissions Unit at Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta in Decatur, GA. The LPN will support patient intake, administer medications and injections, monitor for adverse reactions, and ensure accurate clinical documentation.

Key responsibilities

• Administer medications and injections as ordered.
• Observe patients for any adverse reactions and report findings.
• Record vital signs, weights, and treatment details in the patient chart.
• Assist with the admissions and intake process for new patients.
• Maintain compliance with state and hospital policies.

Required profile

• Current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse.
• Minimum six months of nursing experience (or one year experience at LPN‑2 level).
• High School diploma/GED and completion of an approved LPN program, or a vocational/technical degree from an accredited college.
• Ability to meet state background check requirements.
