Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor – Community Integration Home

About the role

The State of Georgia’s Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Disabilities is seeking a Licensed Behavioral Health Counselor to provide counseling, behavior modification, and crisis support to residents of a Community Integration Home.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct individual and group counseling sessions, develop and implement treatment plans, and monitor client progress.
• Assess residents’ psychiatric symptoms, create behavioral contracts, and provide positive reinforcement.
• Coordinate medication supplies, monitor inventories, and audit documentation to ensure compliance with regulations.
• Conduct assessments on admission, set recovery goals, and evaluate progress at regular intervals.
• Maintain confidentiality of client records and adhere to HIPAA privacy standards.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in a related field with two years of experience, or Bachelor’s degree with four years of experience (or one year at lower‑level Behavioral Health Counselor 2).
• Current licensure to practice as a behavioral health counselor in Georgia.
• Completion of required health screenings, vaccinations, and background checks.

Required skills

• Proficient computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Strong communication and customer service abilities.
