Legal Researcher – Remote

About the role

Jerry.ai is seeking a motivated Legal Researcher to join its fast‑growing team. Working directly with the in‑house Legal Counsel and senior leadership, you will help shape compliance, governance, and regulatory strategies for a high‑impact AI startup.

Key responsibilities

• Own corporate compliance and governance across U.S. and Canadian entities, proactively identifying risks and implementing preventative systems.
• Conduct structured legal research on regulatory, consumer‑protection, and product‑related issues, turning findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
• Lead resolution of complex consumer escalations and regulatory inquiries, assessing exposure and designing scalable solutions.
• Partner with Product, Engineering, and Operations to review features and policies for legal compliance.
• Monitor potential IP infringements and support enforcement actions, including cease‑and‑desist workflows.
• Run compliance audits, setting industry‑leading standards for risk management.
• Design and implement automated, low‑code solutions to streamline repetitive legal tasks.

Required profile

• Recent law graduate or early‑career legal professional with a strong interest in technology and business.
• Demonstrated ability to exercise independent judgment and translate legal ambiguity into practical decisions.
• Resourceful, detail‑oriented, and comfortable taking end‑to‑end ownership of workstreams.

Required skills

• Legal research and analysis.
• Understanding of corporate compliance, regulatory frameworks, and consumer protection law in the U.S. and Canada.
• Ability to draft clear legal memoranda and policy recommendations.
• Familiarity with IP monitoring and enforcement processes.
