Legal Intern - Employment and International Law

About the role

A leading global investment management firm is looking for a Summer Intern to support its Employment and International legal group in Nashville, Tennessee. The intern assists the attorney team that gives legal and regulatory advice and manages claims and litigation on employment law, benefits, immigration, data privacy and international matters. The internship is fast-paced and dynamic.

Key responsibilities

• Assist with legal research and prepare legal memoranda.
• Support pre-litigation and litigation matters, including e-discovery.
• Draft templates, policies and other documents.
• Learn about and help the Wealth Management group and other activities directed by management.
• Attend meetings on new regulatory initiatives and take part in compliance training, then help develop compliance policies and procedures.
• Assist in broader firm-wide legal and compliance initiatives and projects.

Required profile

• Successful completion of the first year of law school.
• Eligible for employment in the US without visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Required skills

• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word and Excel.
