Legal Counsel – Entertainment Production

About the role

Condé Nast is seeking a Legal Counsel to join its Business and Legal Affairs team in New York. The role focuses on providing day‑to‑day legal support for editorial and commercial entertainment content, especially short‑form, live‑streamed, social‑first, and event‑related productions across our brands.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, and negotiate production agreements for digital video, live streams, social media, and events.
• Collaborate with creative, production, sales, finance, and procurement teams to ensure legal compliance throughout the production lifecycle.
• Identify and address rights, responsibilities, and deliverables in line with company legal standards and risk tolerance.
• Support broader film and television business affairs, including development, production, and distribution deals.
• Maintain consistent use of approved templates and approval frameworks to enable timely production and payment.

Required profile

• Juris Doctor (JD) or equivalent legal qualification.
• Experience in entertainment or media production law, preferably with digital and live‑stream content.
• Strong ability to work cross‑functionally in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment.
• Excellent negotiation and drafting skills.

Required skills
