Lecturer / Assistant Professor of Nursing (Faculty)

About the role

The College of Nursing, Health, and Human Services at Texas A&M University‑Texarkana seeks qualified faculty to join its growing nursing programs. Positions are available as a non‑tenure‑track Lecturer of Nursing or a tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Nursing, both on a 9‑month full‑time basis.

Key responsibilities

• Teach 12‑15 semester credit hours per long semester across BSN, ADN‑BSN, and MSN programs in classroom, clinical, simulation, and online formats.
• Provide student advisement and mentorship.
• Participate in curriculum development, program renewal, and accreditation activities.
• Collaborate with local and regional healthcare entities to enhance clinical experiences.
• Supervise student clinical and experiential learning, ensuring competency before independent practice.
• Engage in extramural research or funded projects as appropriate.

Required profile

• Unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Texas or RN Compact.
• Relevant graduate education in nursing (e.g., MSN, PhD) preferred for tenure‑track role.
• Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.

Required skills

• Experience teaching nursing courses in face‑to‑face, hybrid, or online environments.
• Proficiency in clinical supervision and simulation teaching.
• Curriculum design and assessment expertise.
