Lead Technician, Assembly Testing

About the role

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Technician to oversee assembly testing of the SPARC Tokamak. The role combines hands‑on mechanical testing with supervision of a small team, ensuring safety and quality while supporting the fusion power plant build.

Key responsibilities

• Execute complex mechanical testing procedures, including pneumatic pressure proofing and helium leak detection.
• Supervise 2‑3 test technicians, providing guidance, safety oversight, and instruction.
• Document test results accurately in CFS work and quality management systems.
• Identify and report issues proactively, driving them to resolution.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and represent the SASY Test team.
• Maintain compliance with CFS safety policies and regulatory standards.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on mechanical testing experience, focused on pneumatic pressure proofing and helium leak detection.
• Proven experience leading small crews of technicians.
• Familiarity with high‑vacuum hardware and temporary test fixture plumbing.

Required skills
