Lead Systems Engineer - RF Systems

About the role

Leidos is seeking a highly experienced Lead Systems Engineer for RF Systems to plan and lead systems engineering activities supporting complex mission capabilities. You will translate user needs, Concepts of Operations (CONOPS) and high-level architectures into well-defined system requirements, and provide technical leadership across design, integration, verification, implementation and lifecycle engineering. The role works across hardware, software, facilities, personnel, security and operational considerations, collaborating with Government stakeholders, developers, engineers, program personnel and senior leaders.

Key responsibilities

• Requirements engineering: analyze user requirements, CONOPS and architectures to develop system requirements specifications, manage requirements and derived requirements, establish disciplined change processes, and develop security and Information Assurance requirements.
• System architecture and design: lead design and development, generate alternative concepts and designs, use validated models, simulations and prototypes, and develop operational scenarios and threads.
• Interface engineering and integration: define software and hardware interfaces, coordinate integration across teams, and provide technical direction for development, interfacing, integration and testing.
• Technical baseline and configuration management: approve system and component definitions, maintain the technical baseline, and apply agency, national and international standards.
• Verification, validation, test and certification: define verification methods and plans, prepare Systems Engineering Management Plans and test plans, and support DoD Certification and Accreditation.
• Risk, trade studies and lifecycle engineering: assess program risks, conduct trade analyses, and evaluate alternatives on technical performance, lifecycle cost, reuse, complexity and risk.
