Lead Maintenance Technician

About the role

Join #TeamMainStreet as a Lead Maintenance Technician, overseeing resident maintenance issues and coaching a team of technicians across Main Street Renewal properties.

Key responsibilities

• Review daily work orders, ensure supplies are ready, and assign a minimum of five work orders per technician.
• Complete and close work orders on‑site, meeting SLA turnaround times for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and external repairs.
• Document work with before/after photos, manage supplies, and track tool usage.
• Coach, train, and hold accountable Maintenance Technicians I and II, overseeing team productivity and goals.
• Communicate with the Austin Support Center and supervisors regarding order status and SLA compliance.
• Onboard new technicians, conduct rekeying, and perform pre‑move‑in audits and repairs.

Required profile

• High school diploma (vocational/technical school a plus).
• 4+ years maintenance experience, including at least 1 year in single‑family or multi‑family property management.
• Valid driver’s license, age 21+, and ability to lift up to 50 lb and work on ladders.
• Service‑minded approach with strong organizational and follow‑up skills.

Required skills

• Plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC knowledge.
• Lock‑key and rekeying expertise.
• Familiarity with building and property‑management codes.
• HVAC, plumbing, or electrical certification preferred.
