Lead Information Security Engineer

About the role

Mastercard is looking for a Lead Information Security Engineer to join its Security Engineering team in Salt Lake City. You will shape the security architecture of next‑generation Open Finance applications and guide development teams toward secure, cloud‑native solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical design and architecture guidance for secure application development.
• Define and implement secure mechanisms for critical business functions in public‑cloud environments.
• Collaborate with developers to evaluate designs, recommend alternatives, and ensure compliance with security and regulatory requirements.
• Establish security requirements and repeatable processes for worldwide teams.
• Support the strategy, standards, and architecture of the SDLC, including DevOps, CI/CD, mobile, web, and API security.
• Assist with SOC 2 and PCI DSS compliance efforts and coordinate with external auditors.

Required profile

• Extensive expertise in information security and secure development disciplines.
• Proven ability to guide secure implementation of systems in public‑cloud environments.
• Experience performing security analysis of mobile, web, and API applications.
• Capability to assess application architectures and reduce security risk while preserving functionality.
