IT Support Specialist

About the role

Michael Baker International is seeking an IT Support Specialist I to join its Corporate IT team in Salt Lake City. In this hybrid position you will deliver front‑line technical assistance to employees and clients, handling hardware, software, and printing issues through a structured ticketing system.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site and remote support, ensuring timely resolution of hardware, software, and printing problems.
• Manage the full lifecycle of support tickets, from intake to closure, keeping users informed.
• Build and personalize computers using Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) for standardized imaging and software deployment.
• Troubleshoot Microsoft applications, including Windows OS and Microsoft 365/Office Suite.
• Administer Active Directory accounts for onboarding, off‑boarding, and access management.
• Escalate complex incidents to Infrastructure, Server, VoIP, and Network teams as needed.
• Coordinate with hardware vendors for equipment replacement and repair.
• Identify recurring issues, contribute to knowledge‑base documentation, and suggest process improvements.

Required profile

• Two‑year degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 0–3 years of experience in IT help desk, desktop support, or similar technical support roles.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
