Lead General Warehouse Associate - Redi Carpet

About the role

HD Supply is looking for a Lead General Warehouse Associate for its Redi Carpet business unit. The role works across several departments of the distribution center, including case pick, shipping, receiving, returns, loading, order processing and replenishment, and supports management by guiding and training warehouse associates.

Key responsibilities

• Coach and train associates on warehousing duties, including material handling equipment
• Coordinate and prioritize work so tasks are done efficiently and on time
• Operate material handling equipment for loading, unloading, picking, stocking and staging inventory
• Keep functions running smoothly, escalate issues to management, verify and enter product and shipment data into the inventory management system
• Keep work areas clean and follow safety policies, complete paperwork during shifts and act as backup for all warehousing functions
• Troubleshoot complex support or operational problems for junior associates, resolve them independently under limited supervision and lead daily operations of a department or team
• Assist with supervisory duties, train and delegate tasks, and review the work of junior associates (no hiring or firing authority)

Required profile

• Generally 7+ years of experience in the area of responsibility; preferred: 3+ years working multiple departments in a distribution center
• Preferred: previous experience operating material handling equipment and prior experience in a lead or mentorship role
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods and make repetitive movements
• No travel required
• Technical certification or associate degree may be required in some areas
