Lead Evening Ultrasound Technician (Dual Registry)

About the role

Jupiter Medical Center, ranked #1 for safety, quality and patient satisfaction in Palm Beach County, is hiring a full-time Lead Evenings Ultrasound Technician on a dual registry. The Lead Sonographer manages and performs all abdominal, gynecological, obstetrical, small parts, peripheral vascular and cerebrovascular ultrasound examinations, works independently to gather the clinical information the radiologist needs, and coordinates testing with other modalities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the daily operation of the Ultrasound department and ensure a prompt, efficient patient flow
• Perform quality assurance tests and monitor the quality of daily exams
• Maintain accurate records of technical staff licensure and equipment maintenance logs, and keep quality control standards and supply inventory in order
• Communicate findings clearly to the radiologist and use color Doppler and other advanced imaging techniques
• Perform other duties as assigned

Required profile

• Certificate or registry from a Diagnostic Imaging accredited program
• Minimum 5 years of related experience, ARRT or ARDMS registered, with more than 3 years in breast imaging ultrasound
• American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers
• Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs and carry up to 50 lbs; the job involves prolonged standing, sitting and walking

Annual Joint Commission mandatory education, in-service and health requirements, TB/PPD surveillance and maintenance of professional licenses or certifications are also required.
