Lead Data Engineer – AI‑Optimized Data Platforms

About the role

Lead Data Engineer for a fully remote AI and data consultancy, helping clients across industries design and deliver AI‑ready data architectures. You will act as a trusted advisor, translating business questions into scalable data solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement AI‑optimized data platforms, including cloud warehouses, lakehouses, ETL/ELT pipelines, and semantic layers supporting LLM‑driven analytics.
• Build production‑ready pipelines for structured, semi‑structured and unstructured data using Snowflake, Databricks, dbt, Fivetran and modern orchestration tools.
• Write clean code in SQL, Python and Spark, applying Git, CI/CD and DevOps best practices.
• Collaborate with analytics, data‑science and ML teams to productionize AI‑enabled features, without developing ML models.

Required profile

• 5+ years experience in relational databases, data modeling and production data pipelines.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lead small teams (1‑2 people) and work independently on client engagements.

Required skills

• Snowflake, Databricks, dbt (Core/Cloud), Fivetran.
• SQL, Python, Spark (PySpark), Scala or Java.
• Git, CI/CD, Docker, Kubernetes.
• Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and certifications in Snowflake or Databricks preferred.
