Lead Commercial HVAC Installer

About the role

DWC Mechanical, a growing Tampa, Florida HVAC contractor, is hiring a Lead Commercial HVAC Installer for year-round commercial work. The role is hands-on leadership: you will lead a team from initial layout through installation, startup support and completion, working alongside your crew while coordinating with project management and other trades.

Key responsibilities

• Install commercial HVAC equipment and systems according to approved plans, specifications, manufacturer requirements and codes
• Install ductwork, hangers, supports, gas piping, condensate lines, controls, wiring and accessories
• Read blueprints, mechanical drawings and equipment schedules; plan equipment placement and work sequences
• Inspect work, support startup, testing, inspections, punch-list completion and closeout
• Direct installers and helpers daily, assign tasks and train less-experienced workers
• Coordinate with project managers, subcontractors and other trades, and report progress and field issues
• Follow safety policies, keep work areas clean and document completed work

Required profile

• Experience installing commercial HVAC equipment, ductwork and related systems
• Prior experience leading installers or running portions of commercial HVAC projects
• Ability to do hands-on installation while supporting a crew
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to plan ahead and communicate needs
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
• Preferred: EPA Section 608, OSHA 10 or 30, HVAC trade school or apprenticeship, and experience on larger projects
