Lead Assembly Technician – Second Shift

About the role

Commonwealth Fusion Systems is seeking a Lead Assembly Technician for the second shift to oversee the assembly of the SPARC Tokamak. You will coordinate small technician teams, manage daily work orders, and ensure high‑quality integration of large components.

Key responsibilities

• Organize and assign daily work orders for assembly activities according to the project schedule.
• Lead morning briefs, shift hand‑offs, and on‑site coordination of technician teams.
• Review work orders covering mechanical, welding, electrical, and lifting tasks.
• Participate in major on‑site operations such as component lifts and movements.
• Perform visual inspection buy‑offs for completed tasks.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, metrology, quality, and other groups to resolve issues.

Required profile

• Extensive experience building and handling large equipment, structures, or plant systems.
• Proven ability to manage technician teams in a dynamic, shift‑based environment.
• Strong communication skills for briefings, reports, and cross‑functional collaboration.
• Ability to adapt priorities to meet tight project schedules.

What we offer

• Second‑shift schedule (Monday–Friday, 2:00 pm – 10:30 pm).
• Hourly pay with a 10 % shift differential.
