homedepot · Store Support Center
Job description
About the role
The Home Depot is hiring a Lead Analyst to set up data governance and data quality processes across its data products. This is an individual-contributor role that builds structure where little exists today: defining how changes to data definitions, schemas and pipelines are proposed, reviewed and communicated, and partnering with Data Product and Engineering teams to prioritize and resolve data quality issues. A core focus is designing an automated audit process that continuously monitors data quality and flags issues proactively.
Key responsibilities
- Business collaboration (20%): use business knowledge to build trust with internal customers and partners, and explore new tools with other organizations for advanced analytics.
- Project management and team support (25%): lead large, complex projects, set priorities, distribute workload, act as a technical SME on predictive and prescriptive analytics, and mentor the team on processes and standards.
- Solution development (30%): turn data into actionable information, communicate insights and recommendations to technical and non-technical leaders, and drive alignment and implementation.
- Technical exploration and development (25%): guide teams through requirements, design and development of complex applications, teach advanced analytics, and help teams mature in predictive and prescriptive analytics.
- Establish communication channels that keep stakeholders informed of upcoming changes, active issues and resolution status.
Required profile
- Able to work independently and build structured, repeatable frameworks that scale governance and quality practices across many data products.
- Ability to partner with Data Product and Engineering teams and influence adoption of new processes beyond formal authority.
- Experience designing change management processes for data products, and building automated audit processes that monitor data quality proactively.
- Track record of defining and tracking data quality metrics and reporting trends and risks to leadership.
- Preferred: bachelor's degree or equivalent; preferred: master's degree or equivalent; minimum 6 years of work experience.
Required skills
- Solid working knowledge of data pipelines, schemas and data definitions, with strong SQL skills to investigate and diagnose data quality issues.
- Comfort building lightweight automation (e.g., Python) for monitoring, audits and reporting.
- Ability to define and track data quality metrics and report on them.
