Lead Accountant

About the role

HCSC is looking for a Lead Accountant in Nashville, Tennessee. The role leads accountants and accounting clerks and covers workflow management, coaching, training and employee development. It is a hybrid position with three days in the office and two days remote.

Key responsibilities

• Provide input to goal setting, hiring and selection, and performance reviews.
• Oversee daily and weekly accounting activities and resolve billing and balancing issues.
• Oversee delinquency monitoring, settlements, renewals, claims exceptions, and sub-ledger and general ledger entries.
• Review accuracy of account setup for billing new accounts, and review weekly and monthly billing and settlement credit and debit adjustments before entry.
• Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Document new processes and procedures, recommend and implement improvements, and train new employees.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business.
• 3 years of accounting experience.
• Preferred: accounting degree, statutory and regulatory reporting, journal entries and reconciliation experience, and experience with delinquency and collection policy.
• Preferred: self-motivated, self-starter.

Required skills

• PC proficiency including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Accounting software experience is a plus; Oracle and cloud experience is a plus.
• Clear oral and written communication, with good grammar and word choice.

• Base pay range of $63,300 to $114,300, varying with skills, experience and location.
