Law Center Director of Bar Success

About the role

The LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center is seeking a non‑tenure‑track faculty member to serve as Director of Bar Success. Reporting to the Dean, this full‑time, 12‑month position will lead the design, delivery, and assessment of bar preparation programs for Louisiana and out‑of‑state exams, including the NextGen Bar Exam.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, manage, and evaluate comprehensive bar success programs and collaborate with commercial bar‑prep vendors (25%).
• Develop and teach credit‑bearing bar preparation courses, updating content to reflect current exam requirements (25%).
• Provide individualized advising, coaching, and academic support to students and graduates, creating personalized study plans (30%).
• Track, analyze, and report bar passage outcomes; partner with faculty to embed bar‑tested competencies across the curriculum (15%).
• Participate in special projects, committee service, and other duties supporting the law school’s academic and accreditation goals (5%).

Required profile

• Juris Doctor degree (JD) and active bar admission.
• Demonstrated experience in bar exam preparation and student coaching.
• Experience teaching law‑related courses at the graduate level.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and external vendors.
