Associate Attorney – Asbestos Defense

About the role

Segal McCambridge is seeking a motivated associate attorney with at least two years of experience in asbestos or toxic‑tort defense to join its national asbestos defense team. The role offers the chance to work remotely from anywhere in the United States while collaborating with experienced trial attorneys on high‑profile, complex litigation.

Key responsibilities

• Support both local counsel matters and national coordinating counsel duties for prominent clients.
• Draft pleadings, discovery requests, motions, and briefs; manage discovery and assist with expert development.
• Prepare and conduct depositions, attend hearings, and participate in mediations and settlement negotiations.
• Collaborate on trial strategy, witness preparation, and evidentiary issues with national and local counsel.

Required profile

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• Minimum two years of experience in asbestos defense, toxic‑tort defense, or related complex litigation.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple matters across jurisdictions.
