Lathe Machinist II – Mazak – 3rd Shift

About the role

Moog is seeking a skilled Lathe Machinist II to join its Military Aircraft Group on the 3rd shift. You will operate Mazak CNC lathes to produce high‑precision components for aerospace and defense applications, working in a collaborative, performance‑driven environment.

Key responsibilities

• Set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes to meet blueprint specifications.
• Perform tool changes, offset adjustments, and machine setups for new and existing jobs.
• Interpret engineering drawings, GD&T requirements, and work instructions.
• Inspect finished parts with precision measuring instruments to verify dimensional and quality compliance.
• Monitor machine performance, make process adjustments, and maintain production efficiency.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling issues and communicate concerns to leadership and engineering teams.
• Maintain accurate production records and follow all safety and quality procedures.

Required profile

• High school diploma or GED (preferred) and ability to follow verbal, written, and computer instructions in English.
• At least 3 years of experience as a CNC lathe machinist, including work on machines with mill capabilities.
• Demonstrated knowledge of G‑Code; familiarity with Fanuc controls is a plus.
• Eligibility to enroll in the FAA Drug & Alcohol Program as required by federal regulations.
