Laborer - Construction Excavating

About the role

Jeff Asbell Excavating and Trucking, Inc. is hiring a full-time Laborer in Carl Junction. The position requires verifiable construction experience, the ability to work extended hours and willingness to travel.

Key responsibilities

• Unload tools, prepare building site materials and set up equipment.
• Prepare new construction sites by digging, moving dirt or compacting space.
• Use construction and maintenance tools safely and follow instructions from supervisors and managers.
• Clean debris and hazardous materials from the job site and keep equipment and tools clean and stored properly.
• Report issues or unsafe conditions and wear required safety gear such as headgear, earplugs, gloves, safety glasses and clothing.
• Maintain and submit accurate paperwork such as time records and field notes.
• Work in a team and communicate clearly.

Required profile

• Construction experience and a valid driver's license.
• At least 18 years old.
• Willingness to work outside in hot, cold and wet conditions, and to lift up to 50 lbs, climb, balance and kneel.
• BNSF, eRail, OSHA 10 and other safety training required but can be obtained after hire.
