Excavation Foreman

About the role

Jeff Asbell Excavating and Trucking, Inc., a division of Asbell Companies, is hiring a Foreman for excavation projects in Carl Junction. The position requires at least 3 years of experience as a foreman, the ability to schedule and manage manpower, to operate heavy equipment, to work extended hours and to be willing to travel.

Key responsibilities

• Manage employees to meet the duties and requirements assigned by the Superintendent
• Read plans and execute jobs effectively and efficiently
• Operate heavy equipment such as trackhoes, backhoes, motor graders, bulldozers, front-end loaders, skid steers, articulated trucks and rollers
• Work well with owners and general contractors and follow all safety procedures
• Record field notes as requested and safeguard employer equipment by inspecting, cleaning and greasing it
• Maintain equipment, perform pre- and post-shift inspections, add lubricants or fluids and report maintenance or repair needs to the shop

Required profile

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a foreman on excavation projects
• 10-hour OSHA certification
• Proficiency in finish grading operations for dirt and base
• Valid driver's license and availability for emergency response
• Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight trips, weekends and overtime
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen
