Laboratory Technician I/II – Zachry Common Labs

About the role

The Zachry Common Labs at Texas A&M Engineering is seeking a full‑time Laboratory Technician (Level I or II) to support teaching and research activities. The role involves applying engineering and scientific techniques across mechanical testing, fluid processes, control systems, and electronics.

Key responsibilities

• Perform mechanical testing and material science experiments.
• Operate and maintain fluid and mechanical equipment such as pumps, blowers, compressors, and heat exchangers.
• Support control‑system, electronic, pneumatic, and hydraulic setups.
• Repair and troubleshoot field and bench electronics.
• Assist with power‑system work, including three‑phase power.
• Utilize data acquisition systems and engineering software for test data collection.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent (or combination of education and experience).
• Technician I: minimum two years of related experience.
• Technician II: minimum three years of related experience.
