Labor Data Analyst

About the role

The Labor Data Analyst at The Home Depot uses technical skills to analyze complex labor datasets and turn them into operational insights, predictive outcomes and actionable recommendations. The role supports analytically driven decisions across store labor teams and collaborates with client groups and business leaders. It reports to the Data Analytics Manager - Labor, has up to zero direct reports and typically involves less than 5% overnight travel.

Key responsibilities

• Develop dashboards, reports, data sources, presentations and visual aids that educate and influence labor decisions for client groups and business leaders (about 40% of the role)
• Create reporting and dashboards for leader and client decision-making, and provide data sources to inform and educate clients and leaders
• Analyze complex hourly payroll and related business data, identify trends and determine the root cause of labor issues, and propose solutions (about 40% of the role)
• Support existing analytical tools and dashboards for process improvement, and continuously develop technical competencies (about 20% of the role)

Required profile

• Age 18 or older and legally permitted to work in the United States
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a field related to the job
• At least 1 year of work experience preferred
• Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, explain complex ideas simply, and communicate well in writing and speech

Required skills

• Preferred: working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Tableau and presentation software such as Microsoft PowerPoint
• Preferred: basic experience with SQL/BigQuery or similar tools, and ability to learn new technical skills
• Preferred: working knowledge of GenAI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, Claude, Gemini)
• Preferred: ability to apply advanced mathematical and statistical techniques and to draw conclusions from financial documentation
