Labor and Employment Counsel

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Labor and Employment Counsel to join our Litigation Practice Group in Louisiana. This senior‑level position offers autonomy, direct client interaction, and a blend of litigation and advisory work within a collaborative, full‑service law firm.

Key responsibilities

• Defend employment‑related claims in both insured and uninsured matters.
• Advise employers on compliance, risk management, and best employment practices.
• Manage cases independently from inception through resolution, including depositions, motions, and court appearances.
• Serve as a trusted advisor on day‑to‑day employment issues for a diverse client base.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of labor and employment litigation experience, primarily on the defense side.
• Ability to independently manage a caseload and maintain client relationships.
• Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills.
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Louisiana.

Required skills

• Strong background in defense‑side employment matters.
• Proficiency in legal research and drafting.
• Experience conducting depositions and handling court proceedings.
