About the role
The Surgical Technologist will support obstetrical operations in the Labor and Delivery operating room, ensuring a sterile environment and assisting the surgical team.
Key responsibilities
- Prepare, handle, and pass instruments, supplies, and equipment during obstetrical surgeries.
- Anticipate the surgeon’s needs and maintain the sterile field throughout procedures.
- Perform patient care duties under the direction of a registered nurse.
Required profile
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program or at least one year of OR experience, or three years of direct patient care.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) preferred.
Required skills
- Surgical technologist knowledge and experience.
- Proficiency in maintaining sterile technique and surgical asepsis.
- Fetal monitoring workshop completion is a plus.
