Labor and Delivery RN Contract (PRN)

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a PRN Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for its Orlando facility. The position is a day-shift contract with a stated rate of $63 per hour, and the pay range listed is $15-$130.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, collect and document their health data, and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care
• Implement interventions safely and timely, and document actions taken
• Collaborate on patient admission, discharge and transfer, and take part in peer review processes
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and educate patients and families on conditions, procedures and care plans
• Act as a patient advocate, ensure safe handoffs and follow CDC isolation guidelines and PPE use
• Participate in quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives and follow regulatory standards

Required profile

• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's degree preferred
• 2+ years of labor and delivery nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Registered Nurse license and BLS/CPR certification
• Fluent English (reading, speaking and writing)
• Ability to use abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise plans of care

Required skills

• Basic computer skills, navigating Microsoft Windows programs
• High-level abstract reasoning for patient assessment and care planning
