Labor and Delivery RN Contract

About the role

AdventHealth is hiring a Labor and Delivery Registered Nurse for a contract position in Orlando, Florida, working night shifts at 36 hours per week. The pay rate is $63 per hour. StaffFlex nurses can work contract assignments at one facility or float within multiple hospitals across 9 states.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients, analyze assessment data and develop individualized, evidence-based plans of care
• Implement interventions safely and document actions taken
• Collect and document patient health data systematically and timely
• Follow hospital policy for patient admission, discharge and transfer
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, and educate patients and families
• Participate in peer interviewing and review, and contribute to quality, safety and effectiveness initiatives
• Act as a patient advocate and ensure safe handoff communication
• Follow CDC isolation guidelines, use PPE correctly and perform hand hygiene

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN)
• 2+ years of nursing experience in an acute hospital setting
• Associate's degree in Nursing (required); Bachelor's preferred
• Fluent in English (reading, speaking and writing)
• BLS, ACLS and NRP certification required; TNCC preferred
• Additional licensure or certification may apply depending on unit or state

Required skills

• High-level abstract reasoning to assess patients and revise plans of care
• Basic computer skills, navigating Microsoft Windows programs
