Lab Assistant – Sample Receiving & LIMS Support

About the role

Certified Group is seeking a Lab Assistant to support sample receiving and LIMS logging for its Burbank laboratory. The role involves handling customer samples, maintaining accurate records, and providing proactive service to clients in regulated industries such as food, beverage, cosmetics, and dietary supplements.

Key responsibilities

• Log customer samples into the LIMS system with accuracy and split them between departments.
• Communicate with customers via phone, email, or video chat to provide updates on testing status.
• Ensure samples are correctly labeled, stored at appropriate temperatures, and that the receiving area is clean and organized.
• Perform clerical reviews, stock supplies, assist with media preparation, glassware cleaning, and general laboratory housekeeping.
• Support ISO and QC requirements, participate in special projects, and keep supervisors informed of any issues.

Required profile

• High school diploma with knowledge of aseptic techniques and basic laboratory practices.
• Strong organizational, time‑management and critical‑thinking abilities.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift up to 40 lb, and follow safety guidelines.
• Excellent communication skills and manual dexterity.

Required skills

• Basic math proficiency (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, decimals).
• Working knowledge of ISO 17025 quality procedures.
• Familiarity with OSHA laboratory safety guidelines.
