Kidney Transplant Supervisor / RN Clinical Transplant Coordinator

About the role

The Kidney Transplant Supervisor serves as a clinical transplant coordinator and leads the organ transplant team at Ochsner Health. This full‑time position combines direct patient care with staff supervision, policy implementation, and education.

Key responsibilities

• Perform pre‑, intra‑, and post‑transplant clinical activities, including patient assessment, rounds, and after‑care.
• Supervise, train, and develop transplant staff; handle hiring, counseling, evaluation, and scheduling.
• Educate patients, colleagues, and the transplant team on procedures and best practices.
• Act as a consultant and resource for nursing staff, students, and residents.
• Maintain compliance with federal, state, and accreditation standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
• Minimum 3 years of related clinical experience.
• Current RN license in the state of practice and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Preferred: American Board of Transplant Coordinators (ABTC) certification.

• Effective verbal and written communication for diverse audiences.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including 24/7, weekends, holidays, and on‑call availability.
