Junior SOC Operations Analyst

About the role

We are looking for a Junior SOC Operations Analyst to join our Security Operations Center in Huntsville. The analyst will work on a rotating shift schedule, providing 24/7 monitoring, detection, and response to security events across the enterprise.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor network traffic and security alerts in real‑time using SIEM platforms.
• Investigate and respond to security incidents, documenting findings and impact.
• Perform initial triage, forensic analysis of logs and digital artifacts, and develop incident timelines.
• Assist with penetration testing, vulnerability assessments and recommend remediation actions.
• Support deployment and monitoring of firewalls, encryption tools and other security technologies.
• Generate incident reports and contribute to root‑cause analysis and lessons‑learned sessions.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field.
• Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities in a fast‑paced, shift‑based environment.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Hands‑on experience or training with Splunk Enterprise Security.
• Familiarity with SIEM tools such as Microsoft Sentinel.
• Knowledge of network protocols, intrusion detection/prevention systems and log analysis.
• Experience with forensic analysis, penetration testing and vulnerability assessment.
• Understanding of firewall configuration and encryption technologies.
