Junior ROTC Instructor / Senior Army Instructor

About the role

The Manteca Unified School District is seeking a qualified Junior ROTC Instructor (Senior Army Instructor) to lead the program at Manteca High School. This position requires a bachelor’s degree or higher and a strong background in Army service.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and deliver ROTC curriculum and training activities.
• Mentor cadets in leadership, discipline, and military skills.
• Coordinate with school administration and the Army to ensure program compliance.
• Maintain accurate records of cadet performance and attendance.
• Organize and supervise extracurricular events, drills, and community service projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree or higher.
• Either (a) former Non‑commissioned Officer (E‑8 to E‑9) retired or separated within the past 5 years with at least 8 years of honorable service, or (b) former Commissioned or Warrant Officer (W‑1 to W‑5, O‑3 to O‑6) with the same service criteria, or (c) current Army National Guard/Reserve member holding one of the listed ranks with the same service record.
• Letter of recommendation from current commander.
• Current DA Form 5016 or NGB Form 23A.
• Letter of interest, resume, and copy of a valid Designated Subject ROTC credential or Junior ROTC Pre‑Instructor Qualification Memorandum (if applicable).
• Two letters of recommendation from recent employers.
