Junior Information Systems Security Engineer

About the role

MANTECH is seeking a motivated, career and customer-oriented Junior Information Systems Security Engineer (ISSE) to join its Air Force / Space team at Eglin AFB. The ISSE's main purpose is to support the United States Air Force's 53rd Wing Technical Support Services (53rd WTSS) contract. The position is full-time and on-site, and requires a current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.

Key responsibilities

• Design systems or networks covering multiple cloud hosting environments with different data protection and classification requirements.
• Validate and verify security requirements, establish security designs and develop security architectures.
• Support ATO accreditation by analyzing security scans, organizational policies and performing continuous monitoring.
• Carry out security planning, assessment, risk analysis and risk management, and review security assessments to find IA vulnerabilities or non-compliance and recommend mitigations.
• Recommend cybersecurity-enabled products that provide confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication and non-repudiation.
• Work on project teams that engineer and package releases for integration into the customer's production IT environment.
• Review, give feedback and help maintain SSP documentation.
• Support security authorization activities in line with government standards and the RMF.

Required profile

• At least 1 year of direct or related experience in information security.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; 2 additional years of experience can substitute for a degree.
• Active, valid DoD 8570.01-M IAT-II certification.
• Current Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility and willingness to undergo a counterintelligence polygraph.
• Able to stay seated 50% of the time, move around the office occasionally, work constantly on computers and communicate accurately with colleagues, management and customers.
