Junior DevOps Engineer

About the role

Insight Global is recruiting a Junior DevOps Engineer to support a leading defense contractor. The position focuses on securing and operating DevOps and IT systems in highly regulated environments, ensuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of classified information.

Key responsibilities

• Install, secure and maintain DevOps and IT infrastructure in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Ensure compliance with NISPOM, JSIG, NIST, DAAG, CCRI and RMF standards and support related audits.
• Configure and harden Windows, Linux and UNIX systems, including virtualization and container platforms.
• Manage RMF documentation and security tools such as SIMS and eMASS.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments, monitor audit logs and assist incident response.
• Provide user security training and stay current on evolving requirements.
• Partner with ISSM/FSO to maintain system compliance.

Required profile

• Active Secret Clearance.
• Security‑focused mindset with experience in regulated environments.
• Hands‑on experience with Atlassian tools supporting DevOps workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to work within the Risk Management Framework.

Required skills

• Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
• Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket.
• VMware, Docker, Podman.
• Windows, Linux and UNIX system administration.
• Security tools: SIMS, eMASS, ACAS/Nessus, STIG Viewer, SCAP, Splunk.
• Knowledge of NIST, NISPOM, JSIG, DAAG, CCRI and RMF compliance.
• Network infrastructure concepts and protocols.
