Junior Attorney – Construction Law

About the role

Acciona Construction USA, Corp., on behalf of its joint venture SR400 Constructors, is seeking a Junior Attorney to support the Project Counsel for the State Route 400 Express Lanes Project in Alpharetta, GA. This is an entry‑level legal position focused on construction contracts, negotiations, and claim management for a high‑profile design‑build P3 project.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Project Counsel with strategic legal initiatives and provide practical advice to the project team.
• Draft, negotiate, and manage agreements related to joint‑venture construction activities.
• Review sub‑contracts, identify impacts of proposed changes, and propose risk‑mitigating solutions.
• Prepare project correspondence for owners, subcontractors, and third parties.
• Gain deep understanding of prime contracts, major subcontracts, and purchase orders, including notice procedures, risk allocation, invoicing, and dispute resolution.
• Support claim management and dispute escalation processes.

Required profile

• Early‑career attorney with a strong interest in construction law.
• Ability to comprehend complex risk‑transfer structures on design‑build projects.
• Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with project stakeholders.
